HEAD START DELEGATE DIRECTOR
RECEIVES CHILDCARE LEADERSHIP AWARD

    For her outstanding service to children and families, Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens Head Start Delegate Director Dr. Thomasine Watson-Smith received a certificate of appreciation from the Day Care Council of New York, Inc. This honor was recently celebrated at a gala dinner honoring unsung heroes in the childcare community.
    Dr. Watson-Smith has been Head Start Delegate Director at Catholic Charities for 10 years. She has exhibited a passion for quality early childhood services, and has become indispensable for her support of all Catholic Charities’ 22 early childhood programs. She is a firm believer in the development of the “whole child,” through all stages of development—spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social, and physical—and gives her talents, time and devotion beyond the call of duty. Dr. Watson-Smith’s extensive background and training includes management, administration and human development. She earned her Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Kean University and her Doctorate in Education from Teachers College, affiliate of Columbia University.
