Our
Philosophy
Inspired
by the Good News, the Catholic Youth Organization emphasizes
the following values:
- To
encourage our young toward Christian Leadership, growth in
social awareness, and sound Christian values.
- To
encourage fairness, compassion, truth, and cooperation through
recreational activities.
- To
encourage and challenge our youth to participate and serve
those more needy in their Parish and Community.
- To
encourage a respect for authority, a sensitivity for the rights
of the individual, and a loyalty to one’s team and Parish.
- To
encourage self-control in the face of adversity.
- To
encourage the growth of each competitor as a player, and avoid
a win-at-all-costs attitude.
- To
encourage a lack of tolerance for prejudice in any form.
Our
Mission
Serving the youth of the Diocese of Brooklyn,
The Catholic Youth Organization endeavors to help young individuals
be more Christ like in the way they live.
Through
the varied mediums of sports, Boys and Girl Scouts and other
programs for youth, C.Y.O. promotes participation and sportsmanship
with the leadership necessary to form a well rounded individual,
who will be prepared to live in society with honor, dignity
and Christian values, promoting Church, Family, Unity and Community.
Dedicated
to ALL volunteers
I am honored to dedicate this website
to all those who in so many ways, freely choose to serve
God by loving and serving one of His most special gifts,
besides His son, that being our children.
For
all who have had, and now have the courage and love to
see past the problems, criticisms, lack of gratitude,
long hours, numerous sacrifices, including financial ones,
to give of their precious time, talents, and resources
for the youth of the Diocese; to all past, present, and
future volunteers-THANK YOU!
God
Bless You,
Dr. Joseph V. Catanello

What's
New?
CYO
is actively pursuing other programs, not sports related, which
will further allow the CYO program to better serve the youth
of the Diocese.
We
are proud to announce that the Boy and Girls Scouts will be
joining our family within the near future.
