Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens is pleased to announce that the agency has been recognized internationally for its marketing and communication outreach as the 2012 Annual Report won a 2013 Platinum Award as part of the 2013 MarCom Awards competition. In addition to the Annual Report, CCBQ had two honorable mentions, with its 2013 Bishop Joseph M. Sullivan Memorial Golf Classic Invitation and the Bishop’s Humanitarian Award Dinner Invitation both receiving recognition for their design.
The MarCom Awards has grown to perhaps the largest competition of its kind in the world, with more than 6,500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and several other countries in the 2013 competition. The winners range in size from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 Companies. The awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The international organization consists of several thousand creative professionals. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets standards for excellence.
Winners were selected from more than 200 categories in seven forms of media and communication efforts – marketing, publications, marketing/promotion, public service/pro bono, creativity and electronic/interactive. About 19 percent of the entries won the Platinum Award, the organization’s top honor.
Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has won various MarCom awards over the past three years, including five MarCom Awards in 2011 for our agency-wide “I’m From Brooklyn and Queens” rebranding campaign. In 2012, CCBQ received two Platinum Awards and two Gold Awards, recognizing the Preserving Dignity campaign as well as our “9/11 Helping Heal A City In Crisis” publication.
