Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens Attends Team Up Spring 2025 Convening

The CCBQ  Community Outreach Services team participated in the March 2025 Team Up Spring Convening in Chicago. The three-day conference, focused on supporting leaders in designing and executing bridgebuilding initiatives aimed at strengthening communities, featured workshops and networking opportunities with organizations like the YMCA, Habitat NYC, and Catholic Charities from various states including Texas, Tennessee and Kentucky, each sharing their unique approaches to community outreach and development.

The conference provided invaluable insights into innovative strategies for creating more inclusive and connected communities and inspired the team to develop a project centered around bridgebuilding, that would engage both seniors and children/youth to come together. Through a series of meaningful conversations and joint activities, the team envisions a communal garden project designed to bring these groups together. The garden will serve as a space for shared learning, creativity, and connection, where participants of all ages can contribute to the cultivation of both plants and relationships. This initiative reflects the team’s commitment to creating spaces that encourage mutual understanding and collaboration across generations.
