Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens Honors Parish Volunteers at Commissioning Ceremony 

Monsignor Alfred P. LoPinto, President and CEO, Celebrates Mass of Thanksgiving Followed by an Appreciation Luncheon

Earlier this week, Monsignor Alfred P. LoPinto, President and CEO, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens and Affiliated Agencies, celebrated Mass and a Commissioning Ceremony at the Church of Saints Simon and Jude in Brooklyn and St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church in Queens, in honor of parish volunteers who tirelessly dedicate their service to various social ministries throughout Brooklyn and Queens. 

During the Commissioning Ceremony, volunteers were inducted as members of the Catholic Charities Witnesses of Mercy Program and recognized for the difference they make in the lives of their communities. Whether it’s operating food pantries, offering case management, organizing resource fairs, providing bereavement counseling, or promoting advocacy on social or ecological concerns, Catholic Charities in grateful to the many men and women who responded to the call of Pope Francis to be witnesses of mercy for the human family.
