CCBQ’s Community Programming Services recently held its first Lead Poisoning Awareness Workshop at the Catholic Charities Therese Cervini Early Childhood Development Center in Corona, Queens. Guests were provided with information from the NYC Department of Environmental Protection and received kits to test their water at home for lead. In addition, guests were also given an instant swab testing kit which detects lead on most surfaces within 30 seconds (provided by CCBQ and the Maternity & Early Childhood Foundation.)
