The Catholic Charities Brooklyn Community Center held its first Mommy and Me Group to promote literacy. The afternoon workshop included a reading of The Sunflower House by staff members followed by an arts and craft project where the families created their own flowers from the book. Participants also enjoyed light snacks and met with the Community Center staff who spoke about other services CCBQ offers. More workshops will be held featuring new books and craft projects for kids to enjoy.
