In response to the mental health epidemic, CCBQ’s Relatives as Parents Program (R.A.P.P.) recently hosted a Youth Mental Health First Aid Training. Held at the Riverdale Osborne Towers in Brooklyn, caregivers learned the fundamentals of various mental health illnesses including anxiety, depression, eating and substance abuse disorders. Discussions included how to aid teenagers suffering with thoughts of suicide and self-harm. Thank you to Thrive NYC of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for conducting the training.
