The Bridge to Life to Honor Reverend Monsignor Alfred LoPinto and the Very Reverend Patrick Keating at its 33rd Anniversary Gala in April 2025
To celebrate The Bridge to Life’s 33rd Anniversary, the Catholic Faith Network aired a video detailing The Bridge to Life’s offered services and community impact.
Through providing life-affirming options to anyone experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, The Bridge to Life empowers women to choose life for their child and helps support and educate moms, dads, and families.
Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has a long history of working with The Bridge to Life to provide pregnant mothers with supportive services aimed at helping the mothers achieve stability in preparation for their baby’s birth.
In celebration of 33 years, The Bridge to Life will be hosting an Anniversary Gala on Saturday, April 5, where our very own Reverend Monsignor Alfred P. LoPinto, President and CEO, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens and affiliate agencies, and the Very Rev. Patrick J. Keating, Esq., Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens and affiliates, will be honored.
The Bridge To Life’s 33rd Anniversary Gala will be a heartfelt celebration to honor the nonprofit’s mission, the dedication of the honorees, and the generosity of its supporters.
In the video from the Catholic Faith Network, The Bridge to Life Executive Director Francesca Yellico discusses the services The Bridge to Life offers, such as pregnancy tests, ultrasound referrals, multilingual care consultants, material assistance, and more.
“Women are making life changing decisions without having full information. So, we try to give them that information so they can make an informed decision,” Yellico said. “Whatever they decide is their decision, God gave us all free will, but I think we are doing a disservice to women by not equipping them with the full knowledge and assistance that they might need.”
Through supporters of The Bridge to Life, the nonprofit is able to provide baby necessities such as formula, diapers and wipes. In addition, mothers can get clothes for their baby, themselves and their other young children. The Bridge to Life has toys for children of various ages, car seats and more to offer families in need.
“The way God created us is that all of us want to be there for someone. And when we’re faced with that opportunity to be that help for someone, most of will say ‘hey, how can I help?’ And that’s what we try to do here,” Yellico said. “We try to be that person to say ‘hey, what do you need, how can I help?’ And that little bit of help sometimes makes the biggest difference in the world, and you can see it.”
The Catholic Faith Network’s video about The Bridge to Life features two families and their individual journeys with The Bridge’s services.
“These girls are strong women, they are able to do the things they need to do but sometimes they just need a little bit of help, someone to fall back on, someone to bounce something off of. Someone that is in their corner saying, ‘you got this, I believe in you, and you’re not alone.’ And that gives them the strength to keep on going,” Yellico said.
Francesca Yellico was awarded the 2024 Bishop’s Humanitarian Award at Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens Bishop Humanitarian Award Dinner in September 2024.
The Bridge to Life’s 33rd Anniversary Gala will be held at Leonard’s Palazzo located at 555 Northern Blvd. in Great Neck from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.
