Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens distributed 950 meals to families and individuals in need in time for Thanksgiving. The distribution of the 12-14lb. turkeys and side dishes took place on Thursday, November 16th at our Catholic Charities Mugavero Senior Housing in Brooklyn, and on Friday, November 17th at our Catholic Charities Queens HUB in Astoria, Queens. Mr. Alphonse and Maria Catanese and family, with ALMAR Realty Solutions, generously donated 700 turkeys. An additional 250 turkeys were donated by Western Beef. Turkey dinner fixings, provided by the Catholic Charities Food Pantry Network, included mashed potatoes, squash, corn, instant stuffing, gravy and corn muffin mix.
Thank you to all our volunteers who helped package and distribute the items to families in Brooklyn and Queens.
