Hurricane Relief Collection for Puerto Rico 2017

Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens joins in prayer and in action for those impacted by Hurricane Maria, in particular those directly impacted in Puerto Rico as well as for our neighbors in the Diocese of Brooklyn who have family on the island.

The Diocese of Brooklyn – through Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens — will be collecting the following items for Puerto Rico Relief:

Bottled Water / Water Purifying Tablets
Non-perishable / Canned Food
Baby Food / Baby Formula
Diapers for Baby / Adult
Flashlights & Batteries
First Aid Supplies — bandages, gauze, tape, antibiotic ointment, aspirin, anti-diarrhea, nausea, sunburn medication, sunscreen
Personal Hygiene Products — feminine, toothpaste, tooth brushes, soap, shampoo, deodorant, foot care, towels, toilet paper
Sanitizers / Cleaning Products — antibiotic soap, bleach, sponges, brushes, mops, brooms, paper towels, gloves, masks, garbage bags.
Donations of these material goods can be brought to a participating parish in Brooklyn and Queens through October 20th. Contact your local parish to see if they are collecting goods.  Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens will bring the donations to its collection center to package the items for shipment to Puerto Rico. JetBlue Airlines is generously arranging for the items to be flown to Puerto Rico.  You may be assured that Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens is in contact with Catholic Charities in Puerto Rico to arrange for the distribution of the items to the victims of Hurricane Maria.
