Local Academy Assists with Food Pantry Donation in Brooklyn!

The parish community of The Shrine Church of St. Bernadette in Dyker Heights recently made a generous donation of canned soups for the Catholic Charities Souper Bowl of Caring canned soup collection. Students from St. Bernadette Catholic Academy participated by lending a helping hand to our Community Outreach Services team, transporting the donated boxes to serve our food pantry guests at our local pantry in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

The collaboration between Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, The Shrine Church of St. Bernadette and St. Bernadette Catholic Academy offers students an opportunity to serve others by meeting the nutritional needs of their neighbors facing the challenges of food insecurity, rising inflation and recent cuts to pandemic-era payments for low-income families on SNAP.
