Local Catholic School Hosts Charity Drive to Benefit Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens Programs and Services

This week is Catholic Schools Week 2022, a celebration of Catholic education, where schools typically observe the week with prayer and activities for students, families, parishioners and community members! In observance of this special week, St. Bernard Parish in Brooklyn hosted a charity drive for Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens’ programs and services. Bishop Brennan was conducting a visitation at the school as the students collected, organized and filled up the Catholic Charities van with their generous donations. The older grades donated winter items, socks and gift cards for our homeless outreach, while the middle schoolers donated food for our pantries and the youngsters donated books for our Pajama Reading series.

Thank you SO much to our youth for their kindness!

Since the pandemic began, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has provided much-needed food packages and services at 52 Catholic Charities parish-based food pantries, and in total, the agency distributed $7.5 million in food assistance.
