Comprehensive Care with Dignity
The Catholic Charities Behavioral Health Centers offers clients round-the-clock crisis care – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We’re here to help stabilize and treat in the most clinically appropriate and cost-effective settings, while also offering the least restrictive and traumatizing environment.
Patients are provided with an immediate screening and risk assessment for mental health, addictions and basic primary care needs. We offer easy access to care with reduced wait times, regardless of ability to pay or location of residence. Discounts for essential services are offered based on family size and income. We offer sliding scale fees based on federal guidelines to ensure you get the care you need. Click here for more information.
Our whole-health approach includes expanded coordination with other health care providers, social service providers and law enforcement. We are skilled in providing comprehensive access to a full range of medical and behavioral services, as well as targeted case management. We also remain deeply committed to working with the family members and friends of our patients, recognizing that their involvement is essential for recovery and long-term health.
Specialized Services for Veterans
The Catholic Charities Behavioral Health Centers maintain a special commitment to working with United States Military Veterans and their families. We work closely with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to offer:
- Screenings, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) assessments
- Treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Highly skilled military culture therapists and counselors
- Peer advocates with military and life experience
- Benefits coordination

Opioid Prevention and Treatment Into Recovery Program
The OPT (Opioid Prevention and Treatment) Program will help individuals (ages 16 and over) with Opioid Use Disorders (OUD) by eliminating their withdrawal symptoms and cravings to use through the use of MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) and Peer Support Services. OPT Program provides eligible Clients with either Suboxone or Vivitrol (OPT does not provide Methadone).
Suboxone is a combination of two drugs – Buprenorphine and Naloxone – that work chemically to decrease the severity of withdrawal symptoms and reduce a patient’s dependence on opioids in the long term. Suboxone is available for use with strips (under the tongue or in the cheek), tablets, and long-acting injectable buprenorphine formulations. Clients who are eligible for OPT will go through an induction process when starting Suboxone to find the right dosage of medication that works for each person. To learn more, please contact our OPT Project Director by phone or email at 347-977-0020 or Andrew.Karim@ccbq.org.
Vivitrol, also known as Naltrexone, is an injectable medicine used to block the effects of opioid drugs/medications, including pain relief or feelings of well-being that can lead to opioid misuse. Anyone who receives a Vivitrol injection must not use any type of opioid for 7-14 days before starting treatment with Vivitrol. Vivitrol is not an Opioid.
The OPT Into Recovery Team consists of Andrew Karim (Project Director), Madlin Gobrial (Program Evaluator), Tamika Tuitt (Peer Counselor), and Daniel Warner (Peer Counselor). OPT Into Recovery is offered in all 5 Clinics (Corona, Jamaica, Glendale, Rockaway, Flatbush).
