Over 60 children of The Child Center of NY’s After-School Program joined CCBQ’s Community Program Services at our Earth Day Celebration at the Ocean Bay Community Center in Brooklyn. Celebrating planet Earth was the theme of this year’s event, as attendees indulged in healthy snacks, music, giveaways, crafts and games designed to teach ways to conserve energy and preserve the planet. Children also watched the video, Catholic Social Teaching on Care for Creation and Stewardship of the Earth, encouraging youth to partake in making a difference. Also on hand to provide information and resources were Girl Scouts of Greater New York, Empire BlueCross BlueShield and Medicare.
